Santa

A Busy Busy Month

Hey everyone! Sorry it has been so long since our last post.  Norah has been sooo much fun lately.  Her personality is definitely coming out.  She is trying to skip the whole crawling thing and trying her hardest to WALK.  We are so blessed to have her as an addition to our family this Christmas and can't believe she wasn't with us yet last year.  It has been a really great 8 months with her around.  Here are just a few silly pictures of things she has been up to lately.

Chewing on a strawberry bagel. YUM YUM.  I think it feels good on the gums.
We had a Christmas party at our house with the Marlink family, Aunt Jen, Uncle Tim, Cousin Liam, Grandpa and Grandma H.
Oh I just LOVE my baby.  I love giving her hugs, kisses, and Pats on the back.  What a good little mommy.

Ah yes and of course my very first bow in my hair.  Still looks  a little silly but hey its a bow in her hair it is a very good start.

We hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving

This post is a little belated, Norah's first Thanksgiving was a fun, busy day.  We went to Grandpa and Grandma Johnson's for the big turkey dinner.  Norah and her cousin Isaac played with toys together on the floor the whole time we ate lunch.  She wasn't to interested in eating at the moment.  Later we went to Grandpa and Grandma Huyser's house with the DeWitt family and Great Grandpa and Grandma Huyser.  Norah had fun playing with everyone there.  Later that day Norah got really fussy and nothing we did could seem to calm her down.  Finally at 3 A.M. Friday morning we decided to bring her in to prime care.  Something was definitely  wrong with her.  We have never had a night this bad.  I got to prime care with her and found out it would be at least 4 hours before they could see us.  So I then took sleepy Norah and sleepy mom back home.  The next morning I called Norah's pediatrician they got her in right away.  Anyway we found out Norah had the begining  of an ear infection, on top of cutting teeth.  So here we are a few days later, and thankful to report Norah seems to be feeling back to her normal happy self.

Helping Mom

Can you tell we are ready for some new toys.  Norah seems to be out growing some of her toys... or maybe mom is.  You can never start learning your bake wear to early.  Norah seemed to love this time with mom in the kitchen.  Look out  I think we have another baker on our hands.

It was another successful gun opener. Great Grandpa Huyser shot a nice six point up north and Grandpa Huyser shot a big eight in the hills. We are very fortunate to get to hunt areas with bucks like this. Wednesday we head to Illinois for their gun opener, I hope our luck continues.

Early Learning

Lord, tell me your ways.
Show me how to live.
-Psalm 25.4
Norah and I stared something new to our morning routine.  I found a children's devotional from when I was growing up.  It has some really neat stories in it to read to your children.  I realize Norah is pretty young for this book, however I believe you can never start reading these bible verses to early to our little ones.  After reading this particular devotional with her it made me think... are we showing our children how to live by the words and actions that come out of our mouths.  Are we honoring God with our actions.  It is never to early.  Becareful  little eyes what you see, becareful little ears what you hear.  Just a thought for all of you out there with little ones.

Norah's first sleep over

This past Thursday night we had our niece Jada over night.  It was a fun filled night with candy, games, candy, movies, more candy, toys, and did I mention candy.  This girl loves candy, and of course Uncle Dan and Aunt Amy can't say no to that adorable face.  Norah also enjoyed the evening.  She just watched Jada like she was such Big Stuff.  If only Norah could chase after her she would have been in her glory.  Hopefully we will have many more sleep overs with cousins in the future

Six Months

This past Monday Grandma Huyser  and Aunt Jen took care of Norah while mom was at a hair show in Grand Rapids.  They surprised us and took Norah to get her six month pictures taken.  They even bought her this new styling outfit, hat, shoes and all!!!! Norah was pretty much decked out, and WAY spoiled all day.  Or as Grandma would say just really LOVED. I'm pretty sure they kept her busy all day because she crashed at 7:00 and slept until 7:00 the next morning.  Thanks Grandma and Aunt Jen for a wonderful day while mom was gone.

Back To Blogging

Hey everyone! Now that we are settled in our new home, we decided it was time to get back into blogging. Here are a few pictures of Norah and what she has been up to over the last month.

I love wearing Dad's cowboy hat from when he was a little boy.

Definitely Daddy's girl.

Mom and I decided that the cold weather was not going to keep us from taking a walk. Norah didn't seem to mind the cold morning Temperatures this past week.

I love to be on my feet.... With the help from mom and dad of course.

I'm 5 months old and Full Of It!

I'm not quite sure I like my rice cereal. It is more fun to play with than it is to eat.

I've gone straight from milk to Mountain Dew. Ha Ha Ha.
Dan and I are so thankful for our little girl. She is definitely full of energy and gives us plenty of laughs. It is amazing how quickly these little ones become such a huge part of your world. We look forward to each new stage with Norah.

Happy Hunters

Even though we got off to a late start, Wyoming was a blast. Jared was the only one to put a rage in the cage. He shot a great Whitail Buck still in velvet. Craig and I seen a lot of good bucks but just couldn't get close enough to close the deal. Papa Stevens also came along on the trip, he kept us from starving by cooking all the meals.

Glassing from afar and trying to pattern these deer was a daily routine.

After Wyoming I swapped vehicals and headed towards Colorado for another week of chasing Mule Deer with the stick and string. My dad scored first shooting a tremendous 6x4. This buck was very tall with great front and back forks.

It took me to the last hour of the last day to shoot my first Mule Deer with a bow. This nice 4x4 just about ran me over in my blind before it gave me a great 25 yard shot.

We seen this buck while scouting some other areas. We did not have permission to hunt here.

Another buck we seen in an area that was off limits. This one is pushing 30" wide. I would love to see how big he gets if he makes it another year.

Next years stock.

Downtown Telluride. Home of the first bank Butch Cassidy robbed.

On the way out of the mountains!

We also caugth up with Dana and Adam in Denver. We had dinner and spent a little time at their new house.

Our Busy Busy Month

Where do I even start.  Well starting the middle of August Dan, Norah and I moved from our house in Hamilton to Keith and Mary DeWitts old house in West Olive.  So for those of you who were wondering if we really did move, yes we really did.  We moved in two weeks ago, and then Dan left for a hunting trip out to Wyoming.  Then  Deb, Mark, Norah and I were planning to head out to Colorado, and pick Dan up on the way.  The day before we were supposed to leave we received  the bad news that Dans sister Jen was admitted to Spectrum Hospital.  Jen is pregnant and due December 18.  She was 26 weeks when she went into the hospital, we are hoping and praying for her to make it a few more weeks.  Please keep her, Tim and the baby in your prayers.  Jen is doing well so far, and will be staying at spectrum until the baby is born.  For more details on this check Jen and Tim's Blog at gittyup-dehaanfamily.blogspot.com  Dan should be home from Colorado tomorrow.  Dan and his dad both got their mule deer I'm sure he will post pictures and details later.  So this is all for now, as soon as we get our Internet hooked up we will get some new pictures of Norah on here.

Happy Birthday Dad

On Sunday Night we were able to celebrate Ross and Dan's birthday at my parents house. We had ribs on the grill, followed by peach pie around a camp fire in the back yard. It was a great night spent with our family.
Then on Wednesday Dan's actual birthday, we had his family over for pizza and of course DQ ice cream cake. What a great combo. I'm pretty sure Norah is going to fit in just fine with this family. She is already drooling over the thought of eating ice cream.

Sleepy Afternoon At The Huyser's

I'm not sure if the heat made us all tiered today or what. Norah took a 3 1/2 hour nap today, which is not typical for her. It gave me time to get things done around the house, and even a chance to sit out in the sun for a little while. The last few times I have gone to get Norah up from her nap she has pushed herself up against the crib and dangles her one arm out, kind of funny.

Blueberry Picking

Today Norah and I went blueberry picking out at my cousins farm in West Olive. Weird to think that last summer when I did this I wasn't even pregnant yet. I wouldn't want to go back, and I am definitely enjoying motherhood. Thankfully Norah is such an easy going baby, she actually fell asleep in the baby Bjorn while I picked.
