We are at week 20 and had our first ultra sound today. The ultra sound was very neat to see, we could see the heart beat and watch the baby move. Other than a big belly, being pregnant is finally sinking in.
The Christmas Tree tradition continues another year. Dan and I went out with the Johnson family to find the perfect Christmas trees. We however did not come home with a tree this year. We are remodeling our living room and decided a tree would look a little silly in the middle of all the mess. It was still a fun day out with the family even without taking home a tree of our own.
With friends Luke, Amanda, Jay and Mindy, we celebrated the 232nd birthday of the Navy in style Saturday night. The night included a great meal, a few drinks, a boring speech, a cake cutting ceromony with a 5 foot sword and a lot of dancing.
Today was a very exiting day for Dan & I we got to hear our baby's heart beat for the first time. The doctor said it sounded like a very healthy heart at 173 beats per minute.
I came home from work today and seen this coyote cruising through a field behind our house. I quickly got out the 22-250 and headed for our upstairs window. When I got up stairs the coyote stopped for a quick drink of water at the edge of a creek about 350 yards away. My first shot hit its mark and dropped the coyote in its tracks. This is the first coyote that I have shot in Michigan.
For 9 weeks now Amy and I have been keeping a secret and the secret is finally out. We're pregnant! We told our parents tonight and will be sending an announcement to all of our friends and family soon.
This is my first attempt at posting a entry on our blog. The picture above was taken about 100 yards from our house a couple of weeks ago during a lightning storm. I took the picture at about 12:00am standing infront of a corn field. The skys definitely opened up to let this bolt of lightning through. Lightning photos are my favorite type of photography, however the conditions needed to take these pictures are very rare. This is the only the second time this year I was able to take pictures of lightning that turned out.
