Successful Surgery

This past Thursday morning Norah had tubes put in her ears.  The surgery went great.  Dan and I are really glad we decided to do it.  The Dr. said she had infection in her right ear and quite a bit of fluid still in both.  Other than getting sick on the way home, it all went smoothly and hopefully this will get her off the antibiotics.  Thanks for the prayers on Thursday morning!

Little Dutch Girl

I couldn't resist posting last years photo of Norah.  So tiny!

This year Tulip Time was quite a bit different than last year.  Just to think last year Norah was only a couple weeks old and so helpless.  And this year we were practically chasing her down the street.  It was a lot of fun taking Norah downtown.  We even got her to take a few pictures in the tulips without food in her hands to cooperate.  Thanks also to crafty Aunt Jennifer for making Norah's costume again this year.  We got a ton of complements on it!

Happy Birthday Norah

Hey everyone!  Sorry it's been so long.  On Sunday, April 26 we celebrated Norah's first Birthday.  It was a lot of fun, and kind of a funny feeling to think that one whole year has already gone by.  Dan and I are so thankful for Norah's first year of life.  What a blessing she has been to us, we never dreamed being parents would bring us so much joy and laughter.  Norah enjoyed her party, and especially enjoyed the cake, as you can see below.  She got some really great gifts, including a Kitchen set from us, a wagon, a sand/water table, a dutch costume, lots of out door toys, and food and dishes for her new kitchen.  We are thankful that both families including 6 Great Grandparents were able to make it.  Norah also had her 1 year appointment.  Everything looked good, she now weighs 21 lbs, and is 29 inches.  We are however having tubes in her ears this coming Thursday May 14.  She has had 6 ear infections in 6 months, so it is definitely time!   Other wise all is good, we are now chasing after our little one year old as she is officially running all over the house, it is going to be a fun summer chasing her around the yard.

After the party this was so cute, Dan and Norah reading one of her new books together.

11 Months Old And So Much Fun

Norah has been keeping up extra busy lately.  She is getting into anything and everything you can think of around our house.  It is fun to watch her explore and find things for the first time.  She really likes following us around and watching our every move.  Kind of scary!!!
Big helper! Unloading the dish washer.
Just when mom thought she would go fill her morning coffee cup, she came back to this.
And of course bath time is always more fun when dad is giving the bath.
Norah would rather eat on her own, so this requires taking off all her clothes, then followed by a bath.

Go Griffins!!!

Saturday night we took Norah to the Grand Rapids Griffins Hockey game.  We went with our friends Luke and Amanda.  Norah had an absolute blast.  All the people, noise, and activity was right up her ally.  Although the Griffins lost, it was a fun night out as a family.  Norah crashed on the way home, and never even woke up when we took her out of the car seat to go to bed.  Thanks mom and dad Huyser for the tickets.

No Nap, Play Play Play

This past Friday, Norah thought it would be way more fun to stay up and play with Mommy instead of napping.  Mid afternoon grandma J. called and asked if she could come over with a new push toy/stroller for Norah's baby doll.  Since Norah was up and raring to go it worked out perfect. Of course Norah had to be right in on the action while Grandma got it all set up.
Norah LOVED the new stroller, and was quite proud of herself for walking with it.  When Dad got home she had to show off for him too, cruising all over our living room.  She even let go a few times and took steps on her own.
Go figure, when Dad came home, Noah got her second or third wind, I'm not quite sure by this point.  All I know is she was in her glory.  Even though it was a long day with hardly any nap, Norah couldn't have been more happy.  I have to say we had an absolute blast hanging out together today.
